Comfort Is What Kills Us In The Long Run

mirror: insulation foam, mirror, and barbed wire
credenza: insulation foam,and  scaffold jacks
26” x 6” x 20” // 46” x 16” x 22”

These two objects coat themselves to protect themselves, just like a being may choose to coat itself with material objects to achieve comfort. This set of furniture pieces explore the idea of a transparent being. In order to achieve an expected level of comfort, most ordinary furniture is built in layers. The credenza strips away all evidence of a layered process, therefore creating a more intimate relationship between man and furniture. On the other hand, the mirror creates a personal fence which frames the viewer away from all other noise happening in the room, therefore, keeping themselves comfortable.
