The Things We Carry

drywall, marbles, brass, steel, sand, bronze, cement, glass, ink, L-bracket, walking cane, tennis ball, and leather shoes
32” x 16” x 32”

This poetic structure is focused on coming of age. How we treasure objects and remember space. The qualities that compose a memory, and how the objects we make and houses we build, are what makes us human. This particular structure pieces together fragments of architecture and objects. When merged together at a more familiar scale, they create a space for contemplation.  The viewer is also given the larger scale to reflect on their human experience, just like looking into one’s own dollhouse.
