Chicago based Oaxacan Artist, Ramón recently obtained his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with emphasis on Designed Objects and Sculpture, and is soon to enroll in the Contextual Design programme at Design Academy Eindhoven. His work has been exhibited as part of Rossana Orlandi’s gallery in Milan, Sight Unseen’s Offsite in NYC, and Guadalajara 90210 Stairs Pavillion in Mexico City.
Ramón’s work emerges on discourses of the anthropocene. Making tools and furniture that aid in the survival of contemporary politics, often thinking of himself as a curator of mayhem. His work also studies the cross section of migration and craft, as well as that of sculpture and design; in other words, dissolving expectations... mending walls.
